The route
Without doubt the most taxing yet fulfilling of the Spoon challenges, the cyclists will see Britain as never before. From the inspiring mountains of Scotland, the lakelands of northern England, through the outstanding scenery of the Wye Valley, up and down the Devon hills to the rugged Cornish coast.

Challenge riders
The Challenge has been inspired by an event in 2000, in which a group of 10 cyclists, hit the road in aid of Wooden Spoon. They completed the route, sore but exhilarated and in 2008 another group of 13 inspired cyclists, of varying experience took to the roads and pledged over £55,000! We are now looking for another group of cyclists keen to continue the challenge in 2011.
Challenge timetable

The date for the next End 2 End Challenge will be Saturday, 20th to Saturday, 27th August 2011. Challengers will start each day together, but invariably will break into small groups depending on their pace.
Challengers, who are backed-up by a team of support vehicles, will have all accommodation, breakfasts and lunches provided, as well as challenge shirts.

As with all Spoon Challenges, training and fundraising support will be provided by the challenge office. Uniquely, the End 2 End will see regional Wooden Spoon supporters and committees support the challengers as they cycle their way the length of Britain.
In 2000, I was looking for a new adventure, something that would challenge me and last in my memory forever. A small group of like-minded fools, of various abilities and levels of fitness, was assembled to cycle 900 miles in one week.
Besides the aching legs and very sore other parts of our anatomies, the journey was amazing. I have yet to surpass this adventure and now want to share this journey through some of the UK’s most spectacular countryside with more people foolish enough to take up the challenge. Ultimately my goal is to finish up in 2008, looking out onto the Atlantic Ocean, with a lot of happy challengers, having raised lots of money for Wooden Spoon.
